How does budgeting software work?

why do budgeting softwares always make you fund all categories in your budget with money from checking? you don't have all your money for the month on the 1st, so why do they do that? It shows that i'm in the negative the entire month until i enter in enough from paychecks during the month. why does it do that?

1. I dont know...but the software that u have to buy or get for free dont work... I have need to get on a buget for sometime and I am in worst shape now... they tell u to pay more on this cc or bill and u do what it tells u becouse they should know what they talk about but it will only get u into trouble...
