Budgeting Software? I do not have Excel on my computer. I have never done a budget before and my new years resolution is to make one. Does anyone know of any software that is similar to Excel but focused strictly on budgeting? Thanks!

Personal Budgeting Software? Hi all - I am looking for software to manage my budget and I have a few requirements that the software will need to be able to handle. 1) I bank with Bank of America so ideally the software would be able to download my indivitual account transactions from BofA (not just the balance). If BofA offers this kind of budgeting tool that would be even better. 2) I get paid every other week so I budget bi-weekly as opposed to monthly. 3) I want to be able to track my budgeted items versus actual transactions to see where I am over/under. For example, I'd like to have a budget line item for "Groceries" and then when I shop for groceries at Wal-Mart for example, I can link the purchase at Wal-Mart to the "Groceries" budget. 4) My main goal is to always be able to see how much money I have left over each period as transactions come in. I'm thinking Quicken would fit the bill but wanted to get your thoughts before I went out and bought it. Also, are there any web-based tools that would work? Thanks!!!

I'm a single mom and although not living paycheck to paycheck, want to be careful with where my money is going in order to save as much as possible. Anyone know of budgeting software? So I need to make a budget. I already watch my spending, I don't spend money willie nillie, pretty much all my money goes to bills, gas and food. Yet I'm always broke. I get paid once a month, and since I switched from being paid once a week to once a month, I've gotten in a cycle of overdrafting. I try my best each month to not overdraft, because if for once I got a full paycheck I think I could make it...but towards the end of the month it seems I can't make it til payday without having to get a couple more tanks of gas or something unexpected comes up. And then fees eat me up. My bank account has a continuous overdraft fee too, so for every day after my account it overdrafted for 8 days I get charged $3. Which doesn't seem that bad, but when payday is a couple weeks away, it sucks. And then I have an automatic bank fee at the end of every month, which is when my account is already overdrafted, so it's $7-something plus $32 od fee. I even had a car payment bounce because I had the money in my account when I sent the check, but things went through that I forgot about and then got ate up in fees. PS...I'm complaining, yes...but I know it's my fault, I'm not blaming anyone for it. I obviously need better money management skills. I just need help trying to budget. But anywho....I'm not quite sure how to make a budget. Or how much money I should allot to different things. I made an account with mint.com, but that just helps show what I spend money on, which I already know...bills, gas, food and bank fees. Which gas has gone down, I try to pick and choose what bills to pay and when to not overdraft, I get food to last the month, I've pretty much stopped eating out, I don't have a land line phone or internet at home, I don't even have cable or satellite, I've minimized the bills I get until I can catch up and save a little...and the next step is to stop smoking...that'll help a lot, I think. But my true question is, are there any software programs that you can put in how much you make, when you get paid, what bills you have and when they're due... and it makes a budget for you? Or is that just wishful thinking? If there's no programs like that, does anyone have any tips on how to make one myself? Sorry this is so long and wordy and I appreciate any advice.

what's the best budget recording software and equipment for making a music track? I've got all the instruments (guitars, drums, midi/electric keyboard, and microphone but it's a cheap one) and a computer with windows xp media center and a built in mic, but I need to know what programs are out there for about 50 dollars that'll work on windows xp and let my band record and edit music easily.
